Trek to Laguna Torre

Full-day trek from El Chalten for £130pp

This great day trek from El Chalten (just to the north of El Calafate) is one of our absolute favourite treks in Patagonia. It's a moderate difficulty and so you'll want to have been at a bit of altitude before attempting it, but the views of Cerro Torre and the Torre glacier will make all your exertions worthwhile!

Detailed Itinerary

Day One – Trek to Laguna Torre

It will be an early start this morning, as we head north from El Chalten on our trek into the mountains proper. A couple of hours trekking through lovely beech woodland will bring us to the Torre look-out point, from where you have a superb view right down the glacial Torre valley to Laguna Torre and the peak of Cerro Torre. From here we will head down into the valley and walk alongside the River FitzRoy for a short while before beginning the ascent up the morraine wall at the far end of the lake. It's a steep climb but you are rewarded with amazing views back to Laguna Torre, and onwards to the snow-capped peaks of Cerro Torre, Cerro Solo, Cerro Adela and the Torre Glacier. After enjoying lunch with this dramatic view, we will head back down the morraine and back to our hotel. (L)

What's Included?

Our standard price for the Laguna Torre trek is £130 per person, which includes your guide and transport, and a boxed lunch.

We can fit this trek into just about any of our holidays in Argentina, although for most of them we will also need to include transportation between El Calafate to El Chalten, and also some overnight accommodation in El Chalten.

"I must say I loved the holiday, every minute of it!"
