The 2017 Lima Film Festival

Although the powerhouses in Latin American cinema are undoubtedly Argentina and Mexico, the big event in the calendar is always the annual Lima Film Festival, and 2017 looks set to be the best yet.

Spread across multiple venues in Lima, from cinemas and theatres to cultural centres and open air screenings in parks and squares across the city, the 2017 festival will take place from the 4th to the 12th August and gives you the chance to see some of the best cinematic talent in South America.

For example, previous festivals have seen premieres of films like the Oscar-winning Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales), and the 2016 Lima Film Festival had showings by some of the best upcoming directors in the region, such as Colombia's Franco Lolli.

As well as full-length films, part of the fun of the festival is in taking advantage of the large numbers of shorts which are on show - many from local directors - and trying to spot the next breakthrough director or star...

For the 2017 Lima Film Festival we are offering a special 10-day holiday which includes all the following for just £1050pp:

  • Entrance to 20 events/screenings during the Festival
  • Guided tour of historic Lima
  • Cookery class to master Peruvian cuisine
  • Bike tour of Lima's bohemian Barranco and Miraflores districts
  • Guided tour of pre-Inca temples at Pachacamac
  • All accommodation
  • Private transfers
  • Breakfast every day

Of course, just like all our Peru holidays, the above can be tailor-made in any way you like. So if you'd just prefer to have a few days in Lima to experience the festival, and if you'd prefer to tie this in with a longer holiday to Peru then just let us know!
