Dakar Rally Challenge in Paracas
Sadly the main Dakar Rally won't be coming to Peru in 2014, but instead Peru can look forward to hosting its very own Dakar Series Challenge Event in September, called the Desafio Inca (Inca Challenge) and it looks like a cracker.
The event will take place in Paracas and Ica, just to the south of Lima, so over a slightly broader area than last year's Desafio Inca. The desert sands provided a really challenging environment for the world's best rally drivers in 2013, and it's expected that a large number of drivers from across the world will register for this year's event as well.
The Desafio Inca Rally Challenge takes place from the 8th to the 14th of September 2014, and we can arrange trips there as part of any of our Peru holidays - you'll be handily placed with accommodation either at the dramatic Huacachina oasis, or the lovely Paracas peninsula.
