Tailormade tours to Colombia

Tailormade Colombia Holidays

In the 1970s, Colombia was firmly on South America's "Gringo Trail", with a knockout combination of fantastic scenery, prehistoric lost cities, and a fabulous Caribbean coastline. Sadly decades of instability meant that tourists stayed away from Colombia for a long time, but with security vastly improved, it looks like Colombia is ready to delight visitors once more!

We've been raving about Colombia for years, and the holidays below are just ideas, so get talking to one of our expert advisers here in the UK and we can plan a fantastic tailor-made and ATOL protected Colombia adventure for you!

When is the best time of year to visit Colombia?

When is the Best Time to Visit Colombia?

Although it's in the northern hemisphere, Colombia's tropical location means that it really only has two seasons: rainy and dry, and the key is obviously avoiding the rainy season where possible.

Luckily, for most of the country the main dry season runs from December-March and there is a second short dry spell between July and September which means that the best time to visit Colombia fits in very nicely with either the UK summer holidays or a sneaky Christmas getaway...

There are also two big festivals to take note of: the Medellin Flower Festival in August, which is a fantastic time to visit the city, and the riotous Barranquilla Carnival in February.

Holidays to Colombia and Ecuador or Peru

Extend Your 2023 Colombia Holidays

Colombia has a huge amount to offer even the most dedicated traveller, but hopping over the border to Ecuador is quick and easy, and the country also has increasingly good air links to neighbouring countries such as Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

In fact, it's amazing what is in a day's reach from Bogota. You could be at Machu Picchu in Peru within 24 hours, or even in the Galapagos Islands, while all of South America's capitals and major cities are served by direct flights.
