The Rio Open 2020
Although football and Formula 1 have always been Brazil's premier sports, tennis has been steadily growing in popularity. This was reflected in the 2014 Rio Open being reinstated as an ATP500 tour event, and the 2016 Rio Open looks set to be a cracker...
The tournament will be held from 15th February to the 24th February 2020 in the plush surroundings of Rio's Jockey Club, the tournament will be played on clay courts, and top-ranked players such as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga are already confirmed for the leading tennis tournament in South America.
So if you like to take in some top-class sport on your holidays, then this could be a great opportunity. Tickets should go on sale from early December, and with the Jockey Club just a short drive from areas like Copacabana and Ipanema, we can easily fit in a trip to the tennis as part of your 2016 holidays in Brazil.
